From the 18th of March until the 3rd of April I  will be a resident artist at the Unit 10 in Bristol. This will be the second stage of development for my solo show Delta S and will be focussed on prop development.

I will be exploring, experimenting and building machines out of bits of string and the sorts of things that you find in that kitchen drawer you have called “misc.” and I would like to invite you to join me and share my enthusiasm for science, mathematics, machines, automation and play. The machines come from ideas that pop my head in unexpected moments, growing from thoughts like ‘what happens if you make a sand timer with bouncy balls?’ or ‘can you make a bicycle climb a rope?’

Each day I will spend time building on full view, allowing everyone to stop and watch and each day I will open up the door for a few hours and invite you to play, build and explore with me.

I am currently crowdfunding for this project so please give my video a watch and you can support me here

“Chaos: When the present determines the future, but the approximate present does not approximately determine the future”
“Insanity: Repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results”

At the end of the residency I will begin to join the machines together to construct one giant Rube Goldberg machine, spanning the whole space with things sliding, rolling and falling everywhere as I takes the phrases above and finally play them off against each other.
